Car registration kiosk in Kihei | News, Sports, Jobs

The second self-serve car registration kiosk opened at the Kihei Safeway in the Piilani Village Shopping Center on Monday, the county Department of Finance said.

The kiosk is open during store hours, which is 24/7.

At the kiosk, residents can use a touchscreen to process and print vehicle registration cards and emblems. The machine accepts payments from debit or credit cards. There is a 2.5 percent credit card fee.

Residents will be able to perform the following transactions, provided the vehicle’s safety inspection is current:

• Renew car, truck, motorcycle and trailer registrations.

• Renew expired registrations up to 10 months and two weeks after expiration.

The first kiosk opened at the Maui Lani Safeway on Feb. 11. That store is open 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
