The Culinary Union has reached a tentative agreement on a new five-year contract with the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The agreement. revealed Sunday night, affects nearly 200 workers, according to a Culinary Union press release.

The release also revealed that the Culinary and Bartenders Unions have decided to give Virgin Hotel Las Vegas more time to reach an agreement, saying they expect a resolution on a new contract in the coming weeks.

Culinary Union members in Las Vegas took to the picket lines for 12 hours on Saturday.

It was their second day in a row of picketing.

Their goal is to get a new five-year contract.

The Culinary and Bartenders Union represents more than 60,000 workers in Las Vegas and Reno.

Their picketing efforts so far have brought many victories, but there are still a few agreements left to be made.

The Golden Nugget, Downtown Grand and Virgin Las Vegas are still in discussion.

If contracts are not in place by Monday workers will begin to strike.
