A man has been declared dead following a water-related incident at Auckland's Matakatia Bay.
First responders were called to the Whangaparāoa incident at about 6.40pm.
A police spokesperson said: "A person has died following an incident at Matakatia Bay.
"Emergency services, including police eagle helicopter and Coastguard, were called, and brought the man to shore from the water but unfortunately he could not be revived."
The police spokesperson said the "sudden death" will be referred to the coroner.
